v0.5 brings real-time weather directly onto the map, drinking water sources for long summer rides, full via ferrata support for alpinists, and route snapping for smoother route planning.

The Mountains Look Different Now

The days are getting longer and the temperatures warmer, the weather less stable and the snow slowly retreating from the peaks.
It's summer — and that shifts where the shoe pinches.
Finding the next fountain on a road ride, or knowing when the rain — or worse, a thunderstorm — is going to roll in.

Weather Is Movement

When do I need to leave in the morning, and when does the rain start?
Weather is now built right in: 3D, covering the entire Alpine region at 1.1 x 1.1 km resolution.
Clarity matters here — weather should stay easy to read.
Feel free to reach out if you have questions or something isn't clear. Our goal is to make everything as understandable and simple as possible. That's not always easy, especially when you already know what you mean.

Water Along the Route

As the snow melts and temperatures climb, you need to carry more water. Which makes it all the more useful to know where you can refill along the way. We now show public drinking fountains directly on the map. We're already working on a tighter integration through the search bar and hope to have news in the next update.

A small tip: try searching for @water in the app — you might find a nice refreshment nearby (currently browser only).

If you have any feedback or suggestions, just drop us an informal mail. We'd love to hear from you.

For the Small Adventure

On one of our own hikes, we noticed that the via ferrata right in front of us wasn't shown on the map at all. That's now a thing of the past. Via ferratas are now mapped with a difficulty indicator and an interactive overview. Go ahead and click one.

A Lot Is Happening

So much more than we want to get into here — but stay tuned. In a few days we're launching the beta for our app, and we're currently working on a brand new design for our route editor.

Your Opinion Matters

If you feel this project has potential, we'd be incredibly grateful for your support. Anything helps — a follow on Instagram or a short mail to us would mean the world.

Stay safe out there!
